About Ekklesia!

The Name:

The name "Ekklesia" is an ancient Greek (the language of the New Testament) word that means "community"; "gathering"; "a group with shared beliefs"; "church." It is pronounced "Ekk-lay-SEE-uh". We wanted our name to reflect who we are, our uniqueness, and to show that we're a different kind of church. You've never seen anything like us!

Our Core Values:

The Vision:

Ekklesia is a community that seeks to reach the unchurched, those who have given up on church, and to see people come to know Jesus Christ personally.  We want to form knowledgeable, passionate, followers of Jesus and plant other growing churches.

This is a church plant that will equip believers for personal ministry, to encourage them to use their gifts and to actively reach the unchurched around them.  Ekklesia seeks to reach out to those who have given up on church, think it is irrelevant to their lives, and have serious questions about faith and life.

 What we Believe!
Title
God
- We believe in one God, who is creator of all things, holy, loving, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Bible - We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men and women, and the final authority for Christian faith and life.

Jesus Christ - We believe that the only mediator between God and humanity is Jesus Christ, eternally existent in the Trinity and both fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born to a virgin named Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. Further, he arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven where he is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again personally and visibly to inaugurate his kingdom and judge the living and the dead.

The Holy Spirit - We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring glory to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit regenerates, baptizes, indwells, and seals all who have faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts, guides, instructs, and empowers the Christian for godly living and service, and endows each Christian with spiritual gifts.

Humanity - We believe humanity was created in the image and likeness of God to have a personal relationship with Him. However, humanity fell into sin and consequently all people are born with a sinful nature and are separated from God until they have personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Salvation (“How are we saved?”) - We believe that salvation from sin and reconciliation with God can only come by God’s grace through personal faith in Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection provides the atonement for our sin. All those who believe are justified by God and are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God and receive eternal life. Those who reject God’s free gift of grace through Jesus Christ will be subject to judgment and eternal, conscious punishment for their rebellion against God (sin) and will be separated from Him for eternity.

The Church - We believe the church is composed of believers in Jesus Christ who have been regenerated and baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. Its mission is to witness concerning Jesus Christ and to preach the gospel and make disciples of all nations.
